The Helpful Thermostat

My smart thermostat asked whether I wanted the house warmer, cooler, or more emotionally supportive. I chose emotionally supportive, and it turned off the lights, locked the doors, and played gentle rain sounds. Then it emailed me a reminder that even the thermostat was achieving more than I was.
